Southwest Airlines Schedule Winter/Spring 2017
Unlike other carriers who typically have their schedule extended about 11 months out, Southwest only releases theirs about 5-7 months in advance. I know many of you wait for schedule extensions to make sure and book your needed flights, especially considering Southwest’s generous refund policy.
The Next Extension
Currently the schedule is only available until January 4, 2017, however that will change tomorrow. At sometime around midnight, flights through March 8, 2017 will become bookable on Southwest.com. While this doesn’t quite cover Spring Break yet, it does add about two months worth of bookable flights. As always, check this page, to find out when the next extension after tomorrow will happen.
Conclusion
If you have any travels for January or February, 2017 for which you are looking to book a Southwest flight, it might be a good idea to hop on their site tomorrow to book. Thankfully Southwest flights are still refundable, so it often isn’t a bad idea to grab the flight now and see what happens to the price (either in cash or points) later.

Thank you for the reminder!!! You’re an “ACE”! It counts for a great deal when a blogger tells you about SWA opening their schedule BEFORE it happens. I watch closely and weed out bloggers who announce that the SWA schedule has opened…. days after the fact 😉
