Earn 5,000 Points for Referring Others to Flexperks
The U.S. Bank Flexperks program isn’t my favorite quite simply because it aims to make redemptions as complicated as possible. Or I should say, if you want to maximize the value of your points, then redemptions can get complicated.
Still, if you do it all right, you can get very close to $.02 per point value for your points. Since the cards come with a sign-up bonus of 20,000 points after $3,500 in spending, then the bonus can be worth $400 in theory. (You can find out more about maxiziming FlexPoints here.)
Referral
If you have a FlexPerks card, then you can now refer a friend and receive 5,000 FlexPoints. Your friends will also receive the best possible public offer, so you aren’t robbing them to pad your pockets. It is a win win for everyone. Here is how to refer people. It is a little different than referrals with other banks.
- Tell your friends to apply at flexperks.com/refer.
- Make sure you give your friends your 12-digit FlexPoints number.
- Earn a bonus for each friend who acquires and uses the Card.
Finding Your FlexPoints Number
So instead of using unique links like Discover or Chase, you must give your friends your FlexPoints number and they have to put it on the application. If you received the referral email from U.S. Bank, it will have your FlexPoints number, but if not then here is how to find it.
- Login to your U.S. Bank online account and choose “My Rewards” under the “My Accounts” dropdown.
- You should now see your card listed. Click “Redeem Rewards” to go into your FlexPoints account.
- Once inside of your account, click “Account Details” on the top and then click “My Profile”.
- You will now see the Flexpoint number listed after your name, address and other information.
Conclusion
I would consider the FlexPerks cards to be on the more advanced side. For some, this program is a great value for airfare, while others think it is terrible. I understand both sides and sort of sit somewhere in the middle. While I wouldn’t refer my newbie friends to these cards, more advanced people certainly could benefit from having a few FlexPoints sitting around.
