The long empty CVS space at Sky Las Vegas just sold out of foreclosure for $13.5 million with the new owner promising budget eats on the Strip once the lease finally runs out. World Series of Poker player Jared Griener also says two men were waiting inside his Airbnb after he cashed out his winnings, apparently knowing his door code. We dig into a remarkable 70 minute video driving the Strip in the summer of 2001, with the Desert Inn about to come down and the festival grounds still a dirt lot, and make the case that version of Vegas might have been better. Plus $3.99 sliders at Casino Royale, the Mad Hatter tea party returning to Peacock Alley August 26th through 30th, and a $20 dinner and a show from old Planet Hollywood. We also react to Wanderlog’s Vegas pizza rankings, where Evel Pie at number three has us questioning reality. Finally, the LVCVA impact report shows visitor spending off its 2024 peak, and a slide revealing CEO Steve Hill makes $813,000, which is only fifth highest in the country. Let us know in the comments if you miss the 2001 Strip.

Always liked Reno better.
