- Upgrade to the Business Platinum card and earn 120,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $10,000 within the first 3 months.
- You will be charged the $895 annual fee (or a proration of it).
You can also log into your accounts either online or in the Amex app. These offers usually show under Amex Offers, as a banner, or they might come through your email.
How To Check If You Are Targeted For The Offer
Here are some steps to see if you are targeted for the Amex Business Platinum upgrade offer:
- Step 1: Open a new tab in this window for American Express’ website (can just click this link and it will open it for you).
- Step 2:Â Log into the American Express account you want to check to see if it is targeted
- Step 3: Open the offer via THIS LINK. It should automatically open in a new tab within the same window as this article and your Amex login.

- If you see the message that says this offer is no longer available it means you were not targeted.

I know people often think they are targeted because the landing page shows the offer. This isn’t the case though. Go through the steps and see if you can get through it all without seeing the dreaded this offer is no longer available message.
Amex Business Platinum Card Details
Here is the Amex Business Platinum card’s earning rates::
- 5X points for each dollar of eligible purchases made when you book on the American Express Travel website

These perks should help to offset a lot of the $895 annual fee if you can maximize them. That leaves you with a nice chunk of the 120,000 Membership Rewards points “scott” free.
Should You Take the Offer?
Normally, if you have never had the Business Platinum card then taking this upgrade offer will trigger the once per lifetime language on the Business Platinum card. So you would technically not be eligible for a future welcome offer on the card (the enforcement doesn’t always match the terms here).
If you’ve never had the card, then I would suggest looking for the 300,000 offer that is showing up for some people. That offer comes with a 20,000 spending requirement though.
This upgrade offer would be a better option for those who have, or currently have / have already had the card in the past.
Amex Business Platinum Upgrade Offer: Final Thoughts
This is a good offer if you can meet the spend requirement. Just keep in mind the higher annual fee of $895 which kicked in last year. Also mind the Amex application rules before diving in. If you have never had the card before, or it has been 5+ years, then you would be better off grabbing a new card offer.
