Citi AA Executive Is Officially Over

Yesterday I brought you the rumor that the 100,000 bonus on the Citi AA Executive card was officially going to end as of today.  It looks like the rumor was absolutely true since the landing page is now gone.  In fact, when you click the old application link, the website gives you a 404 Not Found error.

So why then do I say it isn’t quite dead yet?  Well Citi may have officially pulled the offer, but they have a long history of actually leaving the application up and that is exactly what they appeared to have done here.

The Application Still Lives

Via Dan’s Deals, there is a link directly to the application page for the 100,000 mile offer.  In the past these old applications have awarded the correct amount of miles, but this is definitely YMMV.  We still won’t know until people report back if they get the correct amount of miles or not, but my guess is that the 100,000 will post correctly.

I have personally applied through a couple of old Citi application links and I have always received the correct amount of miles.  With that said, the ultimate decision whether or not to apply is up to you.  Keep in mind that Citi could pull this application at any time, so if you are still contemplating whether or not to apply, it may be better to do so sooner rather than later.

You can find my experience with the offer here and the application without a landing page here.

  1. Just an FYI for anyone potentially reading this and interested. I applied late yesterday (6/30). I got a message saying to call them, but it was too late in the day. I just called now (7/1) and was approved – and verified that the 100k mile offer is still alive, at least for now. So how long this will be available appears to still be a YMMV situation, but still alive as of yesterday/today.

  2. Thanks for the heads up yesterday. I was dragging my feet on applying and that was the push I needed. I was trying to let my US airways club membership expire but didn’t work out that way.,
