Playing The Citi Retention Offer Merry-Go-Round: What Did I Get?
PDX Deals Guy shared his recent Citi retention offer merry go round details with me so I thought I should pass them along to you. One thing that Citi does better than anyone is retention offers. A customer service rep can often go through all of your cards during one phone call and alert you to any offers you have on your accounts. And they will have offers even when your annual fee is not due. Because of that it is worth calling and checking on your friends at Citi a few times a year to see if Santa came early.
I made sure to add all of these to our massive Retention Offers Database. Be sure to bookmark that post and check it before making any retention calls.
Citi Retention Offer Results
PDX Deals Guy didn’t get as many lucrative offers in the past but as the saying goes, something is better than nothing.
AT&T Access More Card
He didn’t ask about this card since he got an offer for an extra 2X on all spend late last year.
Citi Premier
His annual fee had just posted on the Premier and he was given a few different options.
- $95 statement credit for spending $95 in the next 30 days
- 5,000 ThankYou points after spending $1,000
- 10,000 ThankYou points after spending $3,000
He decided to take the $95 after spending $95. It is the second best offer in turns of overall value but by far the easiest offer to accomplish.
Citi Preferred
There was no offer available on this card.
Citi Rewards+
He only received one option for the Rewards+ card.
- 10,000 ThankYou points after spending $3,000 within 6 months.
Citi DividendÂ
Nothing offered for this card.
Final Thoughts
The offers were not as juicy as in the past but getting to keep the valuable Citi Premier card for free another year is a win in my book. Especially with the new cash out option and pairing it up with the Rewards+ card.Â
The offer on the Rewards+ card is decent as well. It is like earning 5.3X on gas and grocery over the next $3,000 in spend.
The real winner is the offer PDX Deals Guy got last time out on the AT&T Access More card. Earning 5X online is nothing to sneeze at and can add up quickly!

I love the spend 17,500 and get 35,000 bonus points offer. Which really means a total of 52,500 points. I got that twice on my TY Preferred card in the last year and once on my Rewards+.
Awesome – racking up those TY points!
Any experience getting offers to add an AU?
They don’t come around as often for Citi but we have seen some in the past. Usually not all that great.
They have been junk like this

5X on unlimited spend on Citi ATT Access More? That is very nice. Thanks
