Delta Gold SkyMiles Credit Card 60K

Delta Gold SkyMiles Credit Card 60K Offers

Delta and American Express just came off of a promotion where they were offering 50,000 SkyMiles plus a $50 statement credit on the Gold Delta SkyMiles credit card and now it seems the offer has improved. While the public offer remains at 30K, there is now a targeted 60K version which you may be able to get.

No matter how you value Delta SkyMiles, 60,000 miles can still be quite valuable. Yes the program isn’t nearly as good as it used to be and they seem to be setting a record for how fast one company can devalue, but I know a lot of people will be interested in this.

The Offer

  • Earn 60,000 bonus miles after spending $1K within the first 3 months.
  • Earn a $50 statement credit after a Delta purchase within the first 3 months.
  • Annual fee is waived the first year then $95.
  • Expire 8/31/2015.

Card Benefits

  • Priority Boarding
  • Free checked bag
  • No fee for additional cards. (Good for Amex Offers!)

Both Business & Personal

The method I am about to show you will bring you to a page where you can choose to apply for either the business or the personal version of the card. Both versions seem to have the same identical offer. Remember on the personal card you aren’t eligible for the bonus if you have ever had that product before. On the business card you are eligible as long as you haven’t had the card within the past 12 months.

How to Get the Offer

Update: This no longer seems to be working for everyone.

  • Once you have the information correctly on the page, click “Log In”. After clicking the button you will find that nothing happens. Don’t worry about it. Simply open up a new tab and visit this link.

  • You should now see the above page. It has the details of the offer along with links for both the business and personal card applications. You will find the offer terms on the application page, so you should receive the bonus as stated.

Crossing the Line?

For some people this may be crossing the line and I’ll leave it up to everyone to use their best judgement. For reference, the current public offer for this card is 30K miles + $50 after spending $1,000 during the first 3 months. In other words, this new offer basically doubles the mileage bonus.

The Value

This is a wonderful offer, even despite the “value” of Delta Skymiles. Even if you only value the miles at $.01 each (which is the value they assign when using the “Pay With Miles” option) then this bonus is worth a total of $650. A $650 bonus is tremendous no matter how you look at it.

Conclusion

I know this offer won’t be for everyone, but it is definitely worth a look and SkyMiles do have some value if you are earning them in 60K chunks. Enjoy!

  1. I know this is an old post, but I have a new Delta Gold card on its way. Our planned trip isn’t until September. What is the best way to use the card to receive my $50 credit with Delta purchase in the first 3 months?

  2. My husband and I both have Delta Options AMEX cards (.5mile/$1) which we got after downgrading cards we applied for in 2000. Downgrade was probably to avoid or stop paying fees. Don’t remember what Delta card it was – maybe GOLD??? But cannot seem to find this out from our accounts. I can get this new offer to come up for both of us, but it does have that caveat in the terms. Since we usually see offers to “upgrade” our Skymiles cards when Delta has an offer, should I assume our original cards were the Gold Skymiles? Any way to find out for sure? Would AMEX be able to tell me (last time I spoke to someone in Customer Service they were clueless….)

  3. Thanks very tempting! I also plan to grab the platinum and reserve delta cards after Jan 1 so I can take advantage of the MQMs that you can accrue with the card–it’s seems to be the best way to earn status without flying.
I notice that we are limited to this Delta gold card offer once per lifetime. Will this also preclude us from future offers on the Delta Platinum and Reserve cards or are they separate products?
    Thanks in advance

  4. @cd – I had the same problem where it said I didn’t enter the state. When you enter the zip code then advance to the next field it *should* pop up 2 new fields with the city and state pre-populated. If that’s not happening for you, maybe try again and just enter the zip first to make sure the city and state pop up. Just a hunch.

  5. For those having issues with the city and state area, you can’t use an auto fill to complete the information. It will be a yellow box and you need to delete the information and re-enter it. The city and state will show up then. I just got approved for the card. I was trying to wait for the 50,000 bonus and saw this and had to pull the trigger. Glad I did!!! :))

  6. Works like a charm, just not for me 🙁 (can’t get another bonus due to their T&C). Completely agree that Delta not only has value, but tremendous value, despite all the foolishness you can hear from the blogworld, and I personally wouldn’t ever spend it at $.01. Great catch, Shawn!

  7. Just tried to signup for business card. Completed all the fields and received message that City and State must be entered, yet there are no windows available to enter city and state. Have tried both Chrome and Firefox. Anyone experience this? Thanks!

    • Manually type in the zip code and the city and state boxes should show up.

I did this in google chrome and was seeing the same thing as you because I was using form fill. But if I typed in the zip code manually the city and state boxes finally came up.

  8. […] In case anyone needs to top up or doesn't reach their goal by tomorrow, there's a new Delta Amex offer out there for 60k bonus after 1k spend. I got the business one last month for 50k, and I've never seen one this high. See this article on how to find the offer (I'm not affiliated with the blog, just saw it on boardingarea: http://milestomemories.boardingarea….edit-card-60k/ […]

      • but the post says if the 75k offer came along, you could reapply, get approved, and amex will give you the difference of 25k (instead of the full 75k). is that not true?

        • As far as I know Amex will not match the difference on future applications. The terms state, “This offer is also not available to applicants who have or have had this product.”

Based on everything I have heard and read, they are definitely enforcing that. If you get this now, then you will not be eligible for a bonus on the card in the future. (Unless they change the rules again.)

You do make a point about the 75K offer, but the Delta offer has never been as widely available and I value MR points a little higher. With that said, I have no issue with you posting that link or with this discussion. For some, applying for the PRG 50K may make sense. Thanks Al!

      • and using the same logic, i signed up for the delta amex personal card years ago when you had to hack the link to get the 75k offer. one could make the same argument and say hold off on the 60k delta amex offer and wait for the 75k offer to come back.

  9. thanks man. at 50k, i was hemming and hawing. just scored the biz version. sucks the personal one has that once per lifetime language damnit.

  10. @Shawn Coomer
    interesting.
-if ive had the personal delta amex 2 years ago i CANNOT receive this bonus?
-what about the delta biz amex? if i had it 2 years ago also.
    thanls!
