Get An Amex Chat Rep Quickly

I love that many banks offer chat and messaging services because it saves me a phone call and a need to wait on hold. It also allows me to do other work while waiting on the reps to respond. They usually have a lot of the same power as the phone reps too, at least during normal business hours. The one thing that annoys me though is getting around the chat bot. I hate having to answer 3 or 4 questions to get to a rep. Especially when I know only a rep can handle my need, like asking about a retention offer. One of our Facebook Group Moderators, Husni, shared a good tip he learned on how to get an Amex chat rep quickly. It was actually an American Express employee that told him to do it.

The Amex rep said to type in CCP in the chat field as soon as you open the message / chat box. This could stand for Customer Care Professional, my guess at least, but the employee said the Bot doesn’t understand it so it sends you directly to a chat rep. We assume, after some playing around in the group, that most non words will likely work.  I like CCP since it kind of stands for something and it is easy to remember as well. This is especially helpful when you get the pop up questions to kick things off, which doesn’t always happen. It seemed to bring a rep quicker the two times I used it so far too, but that could be totally anecdotal.

There you have it, if you want to avoid the chat bot and get an Amex chat rep quickly just punch in CCP as soon as you open up the chat feature.
