Hilton Tapestry Collection
A few years ago, I pontificated on how we have too much of this stuff in our points and travel hobby. The myriad hotel brands was (and still is) a huge one. But with that growth has come one positive for my family and me. We’re loving the Hilton Tapestry Collection brand for several reasons. Here are just a few.
Hotels with Character
In terms of footprint, the Hilton Tapestry Collection certainly isn’t breaking any records. The brand offers 132 properties worldwide, 106 of those in the States. But the properties we’ve experienced so far each have a distinct history. A few months ago, we stayed at the Hotel Florence in South Carolina. A general store originally sat on the property and burned down in 1899. The building survived, and a hotel occupied the second and third floors starting in 1905.
My extended family recently stayed at The Founders Inn and Spa. This quaint property is nestled within the Regent University campus and offers a throwback feel complementing the surroundings.
Reasonable Prices
Whether one is paying in points or cash, I’ve noticed Hilton Tapestry Collection nightly rates are easy on the wallet. Plenty of properties are available under $150 per night, some under $100. Many hotels offer award rates in the 20k to low 30k range. And those reasonable prices extend beyond room rates.
A Nice Food and Beverage Fit
Hilton Gold elites and above can efficiently use their daily food and beverage credit at Tapestry properties. In our experience, the moderately-priced menus at these hotels can wipe out the vast majority or all of a dining tab. More importantly, the prices didn’t seem to impact food quality. We’ve enjoyed all of our meals at Tapestry properties so far.
An Eclectic Mix of Locations
Hilton offers Tapestry properties in many big cities, but I’m more interested in their less than obvious locations across the States. Here are just a few areas where I enjoy the option to redeem:
- Taos, NM
- Upstate New York
- Morgantown, WV
- Warwick, RI
- Montpelier & Killington, VT
The list of intriguing locations is too long to include in this article. Check it out for yourself here. A wide hotel footprint is highly important to me, and the full portfolio of Hilton brands, including Tapestry, deliver. I enjoy brands who offer unique point redemption possibilities in a variety of locations. Sorry, Hyatt.
Hilton Tapestry Collection – Conclusion
Hilton and other chains certainly offer additional hotel brands with quirky benefits. But we’re also drowning in a sea of bland hotel options these days, and chains keep doubling down. I feel like a new low-end hotel brand is announced by a random hotel chain each week. Instead, I’ll enjoy more Tapestry options soon and look to try other distinctive brands, also. Which Hilton Tapestry Collection properties have you visited? How was your experience?
