Huge Hilton Increased Offers – 500K Up For Grabs
The huge Hilton increased offers is back, this is a semi annual event. This time the offers appear to be even better than last time. They are also unleashing the relaunch of the Surpass card (looks like the card design is the same though 🤦♂️🤷♂️). If you have never had a Hilton card there is a total of 500,000 Hilton Honors points up for grabs. These offers end August 28th. All of these offers have the standard one welcome offer in your lifetime language (really 7 years).

The welcome offer was 75,000 on this card last time around but it has been 100K in the past as well. It may be worth waiting for an even better offer and grabbing one of the other cards while waiting to see if the 100K offer comes back.

This is the best welcome offer we have seen for this credit card. It has been as high as 150,000 in the past but I think the free night is worth more than the 20K difference.

Final Thoughts
The newly relaunched Surpass card and the Business card are the two that look the most appealing to me. Most of us have had the Surpass (or Ascend) in the past whether from signing up or an upgrade offer. The fact that the Surpass and Business version come with an uncapped free weekend night cert as well as the largest welcome offers we have seen make them compelling. Those can add massive value to the offer since they work at almost ANY Hilton property. You should be able to get at least $250 out of one but could get up to $1000 worth of value depending on where you use it.
The Aspire card is still hovering around 150K which is a great offer for the best premium card out there. Although with the trouble people have been having using the airline credits it has been devalued some.

Crap. Was going to have player 2 sign up for Business, but didn’t get it done last night and missed out on 5k points and a free weekend night cert. UGHHH.

Sigh, ordinarily much appreciate your posts Mark, but not this one or the over-the-top huckstering last year….
(e.g., the “Hands Down, better than the rest” schtick — but wait, there’s more!)
One detail you left out — the recent major hit that the Amex Priority Pass is taking — no more high expense restaurants. (like Denver — though you could pitch this as “good” news — think of all the out-of-pocket $20 tips you save!) So far, CSR Priority Pass untouched….
And what’s this vague reference to those airline credits (and the selling of the gc’s therefrom) now not working so well…..? (Read the link — and that’s worrisome indeed — and still inconclusive) Doesn’t that rather mess with your breathless “better than free,” best card “hands down” on the market pitch?
Still, will keep an open mind — esp. re. the mystery over the pulled 130k offer…. that might be enough to get me past my doubts.
Aspire perks –
Diamond Status – I’ll give it no value even though it has some
Priority Pass – while no restaurants still plenty of lounges but I gave it no value in my write up
Travel credit – $250 (I would discount this to $175 in value since it isn’t a straightforward credit) While it isn’t as easy to use as before with gift cards you can still get value from it and there are other airlines where stuff still works.
Resort Credit – $250 – I’ll give a discount to $200 since it is capped to resorts but works on room rates so not too hard to use.
Free night each year – $250+ (and that is a minimum reasonable redemption since it isn’t category capped)
That is $625 in value for $450. $800 in the first year with the double dip.
The CSR is $450 with a $300 credit. It doesn’t come with any hotel status or any other type of credit but the Priority Pass is better. If you hit the restaurants hard then you could get a lot of value from it. I have written that I don’t care about the restaurants much because unless I have a long layover I don’t want to hang out in an airport for mediocre kinda free food. I would rather show up 30 minutes before my flight and walk onto the plane. And I want to go into the city to eat versus hanging at an airport when I land. But that is a personal choice so everyone’s valuation is going to be different. But the perks of the CSR don’t pay for the card in terms of credit like the Aspire card does.
If you can give me another premium card that gives you more value in credits/free nights than the annual fee I am all ears. I certainly haven’t been able to come up with it. Until that happens I don’t see how anyone can argue the Aspire is the best pure perks card out there.
The only card I would put in the same boat was the Prestige card when it first launched. Even then the credits etc. didn’t offset the card but the perks were stacked!
And you should also know that we do not have or have we ever had Aspire affiliate links so there is no “huckstering” going on – that is just my honest opinion of the card.

Thanks Pam – I updated it. I am not sure why the offer got pulled/changed. It was 130k plus a free night this morning and those were the terms in the Hilton media email. We reached out to them to see what is going on and will update once we know.

You list above that the Surpass card “Earn a free night each year and another one after $15,000 in yearly spend”. I thought that you only earned a free night after the $15,000 spend and not just for having the card. Can you please confirm if you do receive a free night with no minimum spend for this card? You are correct – that was an error, I have updated. With this offer you can get 2 the first year if you spend 15K by Dec 31st but after that it is one each calendar year when spending 15K.
