This offer is back once again. Banco Popular has increased signup bonuses for their two Avianca LifeMiles credit cards. The offer was sent by mail with a promotion code that is the same for everyone. Let’s look at the details.

The Offers

  • Avianca LifeMiles Vuela Visa: 60,000 welcome LifeMiles after one purchase
  • Avianca LifeMiles Vida Visa: 40,000 welcome LifeMiles after one purchase

The credit card page is here. It shows bonuses of 40,000 and 20,000 respectively. After you click ‘Apply Now’, you can enter code LM17WB on the next step to receive the higher bonuses. This has worked in the past, but there’s a very small risk of not getting the better offer if you didn’t receive an email.

Avianca LifeMiles Vuela Visa

  • Earn 3 LifeMiles per $1 spent on Avianca purchases
  • Earn 2 LifeMiles per $1 spent at gas stations and grocery stores
  • Earn 1 LifeMile per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • No foreign transaction fees
  • 15% discount on purchases of miles with Multiply Your Miles
  • Annual Fee $149

Avianca LifeMiles Vida Visa

  • Earn 2 LifeMiles per $1 spent on Avianca purchases
  • Earn 1 LifeMile per $1 spent on all other purchases

Conclusion

These are good offers and what’s even better is that they’re issued by Banco Popular, and not one of the major issuers. These miles can be worth about 1.4 cents each, but that will vary on each redemption. You can use their calculator to get a better idea.

  1. When I get to the final application page to submit, it only shows the 40,000 bonus. Did anyone else have this problem?
