PayPal Outage Issue, People Can Not Transfer Money Out

Update 10:45am: I was able to transfer out of mine and my wife’s account.  Hopefully everyone’s accounts are set now.

Update 10am: Doug’s account has been restored. He was able to get a transfer through via the app when he tried again.  It took a few tries but he got through.

So I stumbled across a pretty major issue this morning with PayPal. I had some money hit my account and I went in to transfer money to my bank account like I normally do.  But I was hit with a message saying there was an error with my account and that I needed to call in.  I have had a lot of transactions lately on the account so I assumed my account was frozen for some type of fraud thing. Then I went to my wife’s account to see if she had any issues, the same thing happened. Was this an IP ban or what?

I picked up the phone and called the customer service line. The rep informed me that there should not be an issue with my account and we proceeded to try numerous things, different browsers, the app, different computers and nothing would work.

That is when I had my buddy Doug from Travel Rewards Warrior try his account and he had the same problem. I confronted the rep on the phone saying this seems like a system wide issue and he asked to put me on hold and he would check on it.  When he came back he informed me that they did have a problem with numerous accounts not being able to withdraw their money.  There was no time frame when this should be corrected.  I figured I would let you know in case you were having the same problems and freaking out that something happened to your account.  This saves you the long phone call and wait times at least 😁. Hopefully it is corrected quickly.
