PointCard Titan, New Premium Card with $399 Annual Fee and No Hard Pull

The Point Debit Card is an interesting debit card that now has a $99 annual fee, but also offers great earning rates at times and other spending bonuses. Now PointCard has announced a new addition to itc card offerings, the new PointCard Titan. This is a charge card that will be available to customers in the Spring 2022.

PointCard Titan will have a $399 annual fee. Yes it is a metal card, and it will have three custom designed editions. Besides the design, you can also customize your rewards categories, switch when you want, and redeem points for airline miles, cash-back, or crypto. It also has some travel benefits such as travel benefits such as Priority Pass and free TSA PreCheck and Global Entry.

The card has no spending limits and there’s no hard pull on your credit report when applying. Instead, you need $100,000 in annual income, or $10,000 in liquid assets including cash or investments such as stock and crypto.

There’s currently no signup bonus mentioned for the PointCard Titan card. But you can reserve your spot to apply here.

Rewards Structure

The card have three earning categories, 5x, 3x and 1x. You can pick two categories to 5x and two for 3x. You can change your selected rewards options from both the 3x and 5x categories on a monthly basis inside Point app.

When it comes to redeeming points, you have the option to transfer to travel partners, get instant cash-back, and even ride the crypto wave.

Earning Rewards

Here are the categories you can choose from:

  • Pick two 5x categories:
    • Rideshare
    • Food delivery
    • Subscriptions
    • Fitness
    • EV charging
  • Pick two 3x categories:
    • Travel
    • Dining
    • Groceries
    • Entertainment
    • Fashion
  • 1x Everything else

Redeeming Rewards

Transfer points to airline miles, get instant cash-back, and even ride the crypto wave. Some of the transfer partners include:

  • SkyTeam
  • Oneworld
  • Star Alliance
  • JetBlue
  • Lufthansa
  • and 20+ more

1 point is equal to $0.01. But it is not clear what transfer ratios for travel partners or other redemption options will also be at that same value.

Card Benefits

  • Free TSA PreCheck® and Global Entry
  • Priority Pass lounge access for you and a guest.
  • Protect your privacy with one-time use cards when shopping online. With virtual cards, you control it all.
  • No foreign transaction fees.
  • Trip cancellation insurance.
  • Lock, unlock, set spending limits, and add family or staff as entrusted cardholders.
  • Get personalized support via iMessage, text, and phone. Anytime, anywhere. Humans found 24/7.

Conclusion

The card comes with decent earning rates, some useful travel benefits, and several redemption options including transfer partners. However, that doesn’t seem nearly enough to justify a $399 annual fee.

Without a great welcome bonus, I can’t see much interest for this credit card. There are several other premium cards worth considering before this one, such as Capital One Venture X for example which has a similar annual fee of $395.

  1. I would definitely need something more than just an airline alliance to even consider. They’d need to specifically name an airline. If by OneWorld they mean the likes of Qantas, no thanks!

  2. The no-credit-limit charge card feature is attractive. Chase would be wise to roll out a Sapphire product along this line.

  3. Nothing new, and not enough info to know if it even compares to what’s already out there. The 5x categories are things I don’t even use.
