Rakuten Credit Card Offers

Rakuten Credit Card Offers

Rakuten has been on fire lately. It seems like every other day they are rolling out a new card offer on their site. The cool thing about these offers is that Rakuten offers you a bonus for signing up through their link. But, you still get the normal bonus offer from the credit card issuer too. That is an excellent double dip right there! You may be able to do better with a personal referral on some of these, but many of the cards listed below don’t have referrals. Let’s dive in to all of these bonus Rakuten credit card offers that most affiliate sites won’t even mention!

How Do These Offers Work?

These are bonuses that Rakuten is offering for signing up for particular cards. This can be in the form of cash back or Bilt points. Some have been able to get them via Membership Rewards too, but your mileage may vary there. Why would Rakuten offer these credit card offers? Because they are likely getting a kick back from the banks for each sign up. I am not sure how this is technically okay, since affiliates are normally strictly forbidden from offering bonuses for sign ups, but let’s make hay while we can.

Each Active Card Offer

Some of these offers have fallen off their highs, and some others come and go. I still want to share what is possible, so you know what to be on the lookout for.

Bank Of America Cards

First up are what I consider to be the best offers. They come from Bank of America, who doesn’t have a referral program for these cards:

  • Bank of America Travel Rewards Card:
    • $150 – $300 Cash Back / Bilt Points
  • Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards Card:
    • $75 – $200 Cash Back / Bilt Points

These offers are usually pretty widely available but they fluctuate between the levels shared above. You earn $200 – $250 in cash back from the Bank of America side of the offers too. For more details on these offers be sure to check out our complete write up.

Citi Cards

We haven’t really seen Citi dabble in the Rakuten world until very recently. I was a bit surprised by this development since Citi kicked almost all of their affiliates to the curb several years ago. Have they been struggling to add enough cardholders since then? Maybe. We know their Strata Elite launch was very underwhelming. Luckily, this offer is for their best overall card, and probably the best mid-tier card on the market.

  • Citi Strata Premier
    • $100 Cash Back / Bilt Points

You still get the 60,000 ThankYou points offer from Citi too. It may be worth waiting to see if the ThankYou point offer jumps up to 80,000+ any time soon. Although, some may prefer to grab the Bilt points while they can instead. You can read our complete write up here.

Rakuten Credit Card Offers

Chase

Chase was the bank that kicked this entire affiliate bonus thing off with Rakuten around a year ago. I still put them in at the bottom of these offers because their Rakuten payouts are usually not quite as high. Their own referral program is likely the better option in a two player system too. If you are ineligible for a referral bonus, because the referee has had a Chase business card before, then this is the next best thing.

  • Chase Freedom Unlimited
    • $75 – $90 Cash Back / Bilt Points
  • Ink Business Unlimited
    • $100 Cash Back / Bilt Points

You will receive the welcome offer from Chase on these cards as well. That is $200 for the Freedom Unlimited, and $1000 for the Ink Business Unlimited right now. You can read our full writes up here (Freedom Unlimited) (Ink Business Unlimited).

Rakuten Card

The OG of offering points for signing up is the Rakuten Card. This card is mildly interesting long term, and it recently increased the bonus earning 4x cap, but the bonus can be worth checking out too. I would wait for the few times a year when the $200 bonus comes around. It usually only lasts a day, so you have to be quick. Here is our full write up on the last time that came around.

Rakuten Welcome Offer

If you don’t have a Rakuten account already, well – what are you waiting for? It offers a ton of value from offers like this, and for your regular every day online shopping through their portal. There is also a best ever $50 / 5,000 Bilt points sign up bonus right now. Here is our referral link for it. Thank you in advance if you choose to support us by using it to sign up.

Rakuten Credit Card Offers: Final Thoughts

If you take advantage of all of these options then you could end up with over 75,000 Bilt Rewards points, 180,000 in other transferrable currencies and several hundreds of dollars in cash back. That is what I call stacking for the win!

I grabbed the Bank of America Travel Rewards card last night. It was near the peak at 25,000 Bilt points. I had tried previously at the higher levels but was denied. My wife received a pending result, so fingers crossed there. The two would net us 50,000 Bilt Rewards and $500 in dining credit after just $2000 in minimum spend. That is tough to beat right there.

Let me know if you plan on grabbing any of these offers below, or over in the MTM Facebook Group.

  1. Now imagine if someone transfers their Bilt points at a 100% transfer bonus (plus a 25% pop) for a total of 168k airline points. Yeah, I understand why everyone says that Bilt is a rotten card. 🙂
