Sinemia Rollover Feature Sign-Up Bonus
Over the past year we have gone on quite a roller coaster ride with movie subscription services. From the constant changes thrown at us by Moviepass, to the emergence of competitors it has been fun and sometimes painful to watch.
One of those competitors that has emerged as a player in this relatively new space is Sinemia. Sinemia has generally been more expensive, but they offer more features such as the ability to get 3D movies and even an IMAX movie every once in awhile. Now, they have added one other cool feature.
Sinemia New Feature
In addition to their cardless system and family plans, Sinemia is adding one more thing that really sets them apart. Now, you can rollover one unused ticket each month. This means that you have the flexibility of missing a movie and using it later if you find yourself too busy to use your credit.
Signing Up
While our own PDX Deals Guy has been a member for awhile (our Sinemia review), this new feature finally convinced me to make a commitment and join despite some of the issues others have had.
Here are the current pricing options for signing up for Sinemia:

Which plan should you choose? Here is how to determine if the Classic or Plus plans are the best for you:
- Classic = Normal movie. No 3D. No IMAX.
- Plus = 2D or 3D movie. One of your tickets can be used for IMAX or other premium offerings every 30 days.
To be conservative, I just signed up for the one movie per month Classic plan for $3.99 monthly paid annually. This won’t get me 3D or IMAX, but I’m alright with that. It gives me the ability to rollover a movie if I can’t make it and it includes my local theater where tickets are always at least $10 for its all recliner showings. This should work out fine and I can upgrade later if I need to.
Up to $20 Bonus Offer
Update: After digging through many pages of terms, I have confirmed the bonus is split. You get $10 just for signing up and another $10 if you provide proof you are switching from a competitor like Moviepass.
Right now (I don’t see an expiration) if you sign-up for Sinemia with a referral link and choose any of the plans shown above, you will receive up to $20 in Sinemia credit to be used towards upgrading or paying for your plan. You can also refer friends and each receive up to $20 in credit once you sign-up. All of their plans currently have the annual payment option.

Conclusion
While the news about Sinemia hasn’t been all positive over the past year, they do seem to have more stability than Moviepass and some fairly attractive plans. Add in this sweet referral promotion, the ability to rollover movies and plans as low as one movie per month, and they finally have the flexibility to win me over.
Now, we’ll just have to see if it works out or not! Are you a Sinemia member? Have you recently joined? Share your experiences in the comments.
