Yesterday I talked about Amex Chat vanishing for most of us. A reader even reported it showing up on his wife’s account but when he logged into his right after it doesn’t show up. No one seems to know what is going on here, even Amex themselves. Maybe they are just extremely short staffed and are limited to who they release access to the chat function to? But how do they decide? It is a weird situation for sure.

Eric from Miles Man found a potential workaround. He located an old landing page for the Amex Chat function from before Amex made it worse “enhanced” the site. He shared it in the MtM Diamond Lounge last night too so we could test it out. There were mixed results. Some were able to get through while others got sent to Twitter reps etc. The chat history should hopefully pop up for you once you log in and activate it. I am guessing it will depend on what time of day you use it. I suggest sticking with normal business hours right now to increase your odds of getting through.
