There is a new Southwest Companion Pass promo that is offering you a Companion Pass for a limited set of dates if you fly one round trip flight. Shira of Travel on Point(s) was the first person to see this offer. It is showing on the main landing page of Southwest on the computer or it is on their special offers page.

Details Of The Companion Pass Offer

Here are the terms for the offer:

  • Register now, then purchase one round trip or
    two one-way flights by 9/8/22
  • Travel by 11/17/22
  • Companion flies free* with you 1/4-3/4/2023.
  • Not valid on flights purchased with Rapid Rewards® points.

I like that they give you a decent amount of time to take the flight. Getting the Companion Pass is 2 months isn’t great but it is a decent little window during the colder months which is nice.

Final Thoughts

Like these deals in the past, I wouldn’t chase it unless you already had a flight planned for the time frame or knew you would maximize the pass in the first few months of 2022. I am going to check the cost of some of my upcoming travel and see if it works into my schedule. Might as well since I would be flying anyway. But I won’t pay extra, or add a connection, to take advantage of the offer.
