Southwest Maui Fire Discount Fares
I feel like many in this community have a strong connection to Hawaii. I know I do. My first visit to Hawaii came in 2013 thanks to miles & points and I have visited many times since then, including many visits to Maui. Some might say loving Hawaii is a bit cliché, but I don’t care. And that’s just another reason today’s news is so devastating.
The scene in Lahaina, Maui this morning is absolutely devastating.
The entire town is being destroyed by an intense wildfire, forcing residents to sheek shelter in the ocean.
Make no mistake, climate change is making scenes like this more frequent. pic.twitter.com/dttFnAwEeJ

Maui Wildfire
In case you have heard West Maui is covered in wildfires today and much of the very popular town of Lahaina has been destroyed. This is incredibly sad news for the millions who love this place, but it is just devastating for everyone who lives there. While the situation is still fluid, it is clear the rebuilding will be long and the devastation real.

Southwest Maui Fire Discounted Fares
Given the number of tourists on Maui, Southwest is trying to help people get off of the island. According to View from the Wing the company is offering $19 fares on interisland flights and discounts on flights from Hawaii to the mainland.
Due to the ongoing wildfires in Maui, and the need for people to get off of that Island, Southwest is offering $19.00 fares for all nonstop interisland flights today through Friday. There are also lower fares from Hawaii to the mainland for that same timeframe. The interisland pet fare is being decreased to $1.00 per flight. The fares have been published online, and Customers have already begun booking.
And I can see the prices are already reflected on their site.
Southwest Maui Fire Discount Fares – Bottom Line
It is nice to see Southwest pitching in to help people get off the island so Maui can begin to deal with the devastation caused by this fire. The images have been surreal and everyone who is affected by this is in my thoughts.
