United Travel Bank Expiration

Over the past few years, many have become familiar with United Travel Bank.  Technically considered a “promotion” by United, customers can use cash loaded to this account for flights on United metal.  More recently, Chase has offered a $50 United Travel Bank credit as part of the benefits for the IHG Premier and Business Premier cards.  Those separate, biannual $25 credits expire after approximately six months, though.  Eek!  Regardless of how you obtain your United Travel Bank funds, it’s important to know when they expire and how to check.  Let’s dive into how to find your United Travel Bank expiration.

How To Check United Travel Bank Expiration

Step #1:  Log In…

…to your United account here.

Step #2:  Navigate to “My United”

After logging in, click on your name or mileage total in the top right corner.  On the right, just below your Mileage Plus number, click View My United (pictured above).

Step #3:  Find Your Travel Bank

You’re now at the main page for your United account.  At center height level toward the right, you’ll see a Travel Bank summary including your balance and the nearest term expiration of funds.  This is an easy way to know the soonest funds will expire.  Some may want more context, though.

Step #4:  Click View Details

Members wanting a full view of all of their various expirations should click View details.  Members will immediately see their United Travel bank expirations, ordered by date.

Step #5:  Review Your United Travel Bank

This page contains several areas of useful information.  In addition to your total balance and amounts expiring on each date (I’ve omitted my amounts above), members can see when they used United Travel Bank funds.  Specifically, a member can easily view the departure/arrival information, confirmation number, and travelers associated with each Travel Bank use.

Conclusion

Finding United Travel Bank expirations is easy enough, but formatting of the page is pretty basic.  Those who have added lots to their Travel Banks over the years may go dizzy searching for any specific piece of information.  And unfortunately, the page doesn’t have a handy link to United Travel Bank terms and conditions.  You can find those here.  Nonetheless, United has made it relatively pain-free for us to find our Travel Bank expiration dates.  What do you think of the United Travel Bank?

  1. Thanks for the reply. My IHG card info has been in my United profile for months and no credit so far. United chat help finally said I needed to call their web support to have them register it. I haven’t tried that yet.

  3. Chase says that I have to “register” my IHG card at United to get the $25.00 credit. United doesn’t have any guidance on doing that. Any suggestions?

    • Jim,
I haven’t done it yet, either. But I think you simply just have to add the card info to your United profile.
