American Express Gift Cards Return To More Portals
Just a quick note this morning that it appears American Express gift cards have returned to more shopping portals today . Yesterday morning Top Cashback was using language indiciating they had an exclusive on the return of the gift cards, however late in the day they changed their verbiage to state it was a one day exclusive.
I fully expect the gift cards to return to more portals over the next few days, however there are already a few more offering cash back for their purchase.
BeFrugal
BeFrugal is one of my favorite portals and they are currently paying 1.5% on American Express gift cards as of the morning on 10/1/14.
Share My Deal
Share My Deal is a portal I have never used, but they too have American Express gift cards, although at a reduced 1.2% cash back rate. As of 10am 10/1/14.
Top Cashback
Top Cashback continues to offer 1.5% cash back through their portal for the purchase of American Express gift cards as of 10am on 10/1/14.
Should You Buy
While there is still an opportunity for profit at 1.5% cash back, I absolutely believe (my opinion only) that we will see higher offers through the portals eventually. These gift cards are just now getting back out there, meaning we are likely to see specials, especially as we get closer to the holiday season. Buy if you want, but I don’t expect this deal to go away and it will probably get better as competition increases with the return to more portals.
Conclusion
While we are still only seeing 1.5% as the maximum cash back available for the purchase of American Express gift cards, it is nice to see the offer roll out to more portals. Keep checking sites like Cashback Monitor and Cashbackaholic over the next few days to see which other portals roll out the offer. Keep in mind that those sites are often slightly behind (neither have BeFrugal listed yet for example), so it is always best to check your favorite portal directly!

As of last month Gift Card Mall had blocked the use of American Express gift cards to pay for Visa Gift card. I haven’t tried since then, but I would expect that is still the case.
