American Express Platinum Member Airfares
American Express has introduced Platinum Member Airfares, a new, expanded airfare program for Platinum Card Members booking through Amex Travel. This is mostly a rebrand of the International Airline Program (IAP) and Recommended Flights.
With the launch of Platinum Member Airfares, Amex is now promising:
- Expanded Savings: Platinum Card® Members can access savings on select flight fares with more than 30 airlines.
- “Fly once, earn twice”: Platinum Card Members can earn 5X Membership Rewards® points (on up to $500,000 in flight purchases per calendar year) while also earning airline miles as they typically would, all on the same ticket.
- Book for yourself and others: Savings can apply to up to seven additional travelers on the same reservation as the eligible Card Member.
American Express Platinum Card Members can save an average of 10% or about $100 per ticket on eligible international premium cabin fares booked through the program. The airfare discounts are centered around premium economy, business, and first-class tickets with a range of international carriers, like Delta, Lufthansa, Air Canada, China Airlines, Qantas, and more.
