SiriusXM Dropped from Digital Entertainment Credits

American Express has recently revealed a revision to its Digital Entertainment Credit Benefit applicable to The Platinum Card® from American Express.

Effective early May, SiriusXM will no longer qualify as one of the eligible services for the monthly $20 credit on the Amex Platinum Card.

This adjustment has been communicated to cardholders through the monthly statements distributed in the past few days. Here’s the relevant text:

We are updating the partners participating in the $240 Digital Entertainment Credit benefit for which eligible purchases made by Basic and Additional Card Members on the Account can earn up to $20 in statement credits per month, for a total of up to $240 per calendar year in statement credits across all Cards on the Account.

Effective May 8, 2024, SiriusXM will be removed from the benefit and purchases at SiriusXM on or after May 8, will no longer be eligible for the benefit.

The Platinum Card® from American Express also dropped Audible as one of the eligible services back in October. That leaves Disney+, ESPN, HULU, NYT, Peacock, and WSJ as the remaining options to use the $20 monthly credit.

  1. Just more pull back from AMEX while they raise yearly card fees. First it was the removal of the guests from the Centurion lounge, now this and other BS. The restructuring of the Hilton Aspire Card card benefits including deletion of the Priority Pass benefit for that card has led us to cancel it. Platinum will be next, but they don’t care because not enough will do it.
