Caesars Diamond FoundersCard
Yesterday we shared some bad news with you about the Caesars Rewards status match merry-go-round. Caesars had added new terms to knock us “freeloaders” off the Diamond status pedestal. Anyone that earned Wyndham Diamond status via another match would no longer be eligible for the Caesars Rewards Diamond partnership match. If you didn’t earn it from Wyndham then you don’t get it from Caesars essentially. That doesn’t mean all options are gone, including earning Caesars Diamond from FoundersCard.
Caesars Rewards Retroactively Removing Status
They didn’t stop there though. Caesars started going back through accounts that had already received the match and yanking back that status. Some people were lucky enough to have a Vegas trip right after the match and used their celebration dinner. Most others either never got the match at all or had their status busted back to Gold in the last few days, if they had.
Caesars Rewards Diamond Status Options Are Still Available
There are still a couple work arounds though. If you have the Wyndham Earner Business card then you technically “earned” your Wyndham Diamond status so you should be able to match that to Caesars Rewards Diamond and keep it. The other option is getting Caesars Diamond from FoundersCard.
FoundersCard
FoundersCard is a program for small business owners that gives you perks and access to certain programs via partnerships. You can read Shawn’s full review here. One of their partnerships is Caesars Rewards and you are given Diamond status as a FoundersCard holder.
We assumed that this status would be safe. But then Shawn’s Caesars status, which he got from FoundersCard, was dropped from Diamond to Gold. He reached out to FoundersCard yesterday and they confirmed that shouldn’t have been the case. He should still have Caesars Rewards Diamond status since it didn’t come from the Wyndham match. It appears at some point his Caesars Rewards number changed and FoundersCard sent the match info to the old number. They are getting that corrected now and he should be right as rain in no time.
Caesars Diamond From FoundersCard: Final Thoughts
The best way to continue along with your Caesars Rewards Diamond status is the Wyndham Earner Business card. Barclays is no joke though and approvals can be tough. If you are denied, or if you are not eligible for a business card, then FoundersCard is another option, even if it is more expensive. Depending on how many Vegas trips you have, Caesars Diamond status alone could cover the cost of membership alone. Hello waived resort fees!

I only care about diamond status benefit of the FC so I can skip the lines at the poker tables at Caesars properties, and I just signed up for the trial. After signing up, I found out there is “fine print” and the trial doesn’t include a bunch of stuff, including diamond status.
More fine print: I also talked to the member desk at Caesars, and they told me that even if I pay full price for the FC, “corporate” needs to approve the upgrade.
I emailed support at FC and they told me they are “sure” I can get diamond status when I pay for it, but then said they can’t guarantee it. They said if I pay for it, and Caesars won’t upgrade me, FC won’t refund me. More fine print: They also Told me it takes about a month to get the status upgraded, so it’s only an 11 month benefit, rather than 12. I asked and They said will not give me 12 months, even though they advertise 12 months of diamond status.
If FC won’t stand behind their product with a guarantee, and won’t honor 12 months as they advertise it (hiding behind a fine print policy), I’m not risking the money. Seems super sketchy to me. If they are a legit company and not a scam, then why won’t they stand behind the product and deliver as they advertise it?
That’s the first I have heard that corporate needs to approve it. I haven’t heard of anyone not getting it as a FC member, but I agree that is frustrating.
I went the FC route to get my Diamond back since they wouldn’t match to my MGM Gold again unless I took a year off from CET properties. I gamble a good amount throughout the year between Atlantic City and Las Vegas but I can never hit Diamond. I considered the FC fee to be very little in terms of gambling losses, resort fees etc.. I can easily make it up in one or two trips.
Do you still have your CODE for the $295 FoundersCard with the $95 initial fee waived?
I joined FC this year… so it might be Caesars watering down the benefit for non-gambling revenue status holders? Specifically the celebration dinner and Bahamas trip were excluded, not the resort fee waiver.
May wanna call to try to book that Atlantis trip – you may be surprised.
It is important to note that diamond status obtained by Founders Card doesn’t include many of the benefits that make diamond status attractive, the free dinners/vacation, etc.
It does and has for years. The only thing it doesn’t get is the Atlantis Dubai trip.
Not according to FC customer service. I am an FC member so I hope you are correct, but that’s directly contrary to what I was told directly by the company.
That is what years of experience has shown. Unless they changed something this year but that has never been the case. FC members have always gotten the $100 dinner, free show tickets, waived resort fees and the Bahamas trip.
Got my dinner
Except Founders Card is around $500 a year (last time I checked a few years ago) and there is no guarantee Caesars won’t end that match as well. Most of the Founders Club benefits are easy to achieve through other means so I didn’t see the value. On the other hand I get Caesars Diamond Plus from gambling so never had to stoop to a status match
That means you lose thousands, if not, tens if thousands each year for obtaining Diamond. Good tradeoff! (or maybe not)
@John L – nope I typically am up or down $5000 or less each year. BTW I am independently wealthy since I am a retired long time senior executive so that is a rounding error for me. Even if I lose $5000 I typically stay 40 or more nights at a Caesar’s property free, get many perks and build up comps I can use for meals and other expenses. I use them frequently and still have over $1600 in my account.
I love to travel and gamble so this works for me and I can fade the variance. I know it doesn’t work for everyone
