Amex Platinum 100K Offer

It seems to me that an American Express Platinum 100K offer is cream of the crop when it comes to credit card bonuses. Sure, we have seen 150K and even 250K offers on the Business Platinum card, but 100K on the personal Platinum is exciting! Based on how readers have reacted to past occurrences of a 100K offer, I would say you guys tend to agree.

Back in August it was possible to get a 100K Platinum offer to show up on the American Express website. It took some perseverance and some luck, but many of you were able to get the offer to show up. Then it disappeared into the night, but a little birdie told me that it has returned.

The New Amex Platinum 100K Offer

Update:  A new direct link to the 100K offer has been found. You can find out more info here.

Actually the little birdie is a local friend who just happened to stumble across this post from August. In that post I described how it might be possible to get this offer to show up:

This is a screenshot of the offer from last August.

On May 1, 2016, my friend followed the directions in that post and got the offer to show up. He applied, was approved and was even able to confirm the bonus with American Express.

How to Get the Offer

Here are the steps that he followed to get the offer to show up:

  1. Open up a private/incognito window. This will make sure your current cookies don’t interfere.
  2. Click this link to go to the Amex Platinum home page.
  3. If you see the 100K offer then you are done. Congratulations!
  4. If you see a 40K offer, then close the window and repeat the previous steps until you see the 100K offer.

Getting the Offer to Show

Now, I have tried to get the offer to show for me using a few different browsers and have failed each time. It definitely isn’t as easy as it was to get the offer to show up before and I can’t guarantee you will get it. All I can say is that my friend followed those instructions, got the offer to show and was approved on May 1. If you are interested, good luck and please let us know if you have any success!

  1. Got the 100k offer first time by using the new direct link you have. Used iPhone and safari browser. Thanks for the link and information.

  2. Also tried your link in Incognito about 30 times before giving up.

Found another link (on a different miles site, Noooo!) and clicked through and it worked on the first time, no Incognito mode needed.

Give it a whirl. Please, for the love of all that is holy, don’t troll me if it doesn’t work. Just trying to be a good community member

  3. Did anyone see anyone actually have the 100k offer show up? All I see from here and frequent Miler and Google is people not having it show up.

  4. The point is that anyone can write a title like this and claim that it MIGHT work, or that it ONCE worked (but now doesn’t).

The fact that everyone who bothered to comment did try it and it doesn’t work, seems to prove that the article is not worth our time.

If there are a lot of articles like this from the author, people will stop coming here. We all have a number of bloggers that we USED to follow but the content got bad, so we stopped. Right?

I like a lot of what he writes but this article wasn’t his best work.

  5. I tried 50x in private Firefox and 20x in private Safari… got the 40k offer every time. Oh well – only took about 3 minutes.

Shawn don’t listen to the haters above.

  6. Just happened to get my new laptop today and tried this after never logged into my AmEx accounts before or importing any bookmarks. Used Firefox….at least 20 times. Best was 40k.

Time to kill this post since it seems exactly ZERO people were successful

  7. I tried multiple browsers, incognito, safe mode, VPNs, 4 different devices… no dice other than 40k. It’s raining here, so you could say it was more of a pissing match to see if I could get 3 cherries on the AMEX slot machine. I’m not normally lunatic.

I can’t make it out in the terms, does the MB Plat have all of the same perks otherwise? I’m not buying a MB anytime soon but 75k for 3k does the job for me, if it has the other same benefits. Cheers!

  8. Wow, when did people start getting so entitled? Shawn specifically said that he couldn’t guarantee it would work and there are people in the comments saying that they were able to get at least 75K so why so the anger?

    • Since when does he write based solely on rumorville? At the minimum if it worked on May 1, at least post it on that date when the gates were open.

        • Tell your boys to quit posting on your behalf.

Point is don’t post stuff that you haven’t confirmed to work, especially late. That’s like posting a flight deal someone confirmed to work 6 days ago. What’s the point.

  9. I have always enjoyed reading your content but this one was fcked. Not only have I tried 50x across several devices, I had friends and family try it too. Not a single case of success and this was a complete waste of time. Thanks for nothing.

    • @Al – no need to get salty. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Is it really that difficult to right click the link and left click the option to open incognito?

    • @Al, who threatened you and your family to try more than 50x combined????? You need to understand, it’s a hit or miss, nothing was guaranteed.

  10. I clicked the link and got 75K offer but it states “If you are identified as a current or former American Express® Card Member, this offer may not be available to you.” Amex has recently gotten really bad with customer service and honoring or matching offers.

  11. Also unable to get the offer to show. 40k for me. When I block cookies, it send me to the login page and won’t even load the linked page.

  12. “I have tried to get the offer to show for me using a few different browsers and have failed each time.”

So you post about something that you’re unable to confirm?

      • So one person got the offer and yet that’s enough of a “success” story for you to blog about it? Kinda pathetic, isn’t it?

Oh, curious you forgot to mention that the offer is only available to those who’ve never had a Plat before…

        Sigh.

  13. I saw a display ad about two weeks ago for a 75k Mercedes Plat offer. I haven’t seen it since however. Any idea if that’s out in the wild? My thumbs have quit on this 100k attempt.
